Healthcare Program Enrollment Assistance

There are a number of programs available to help low-income individuals and families pay for their healthcare costs, but many people do not know they qualify, or they are intimidated by the forms and options. QueensCare Family Clinics has promotoras and enrollers who help new and existing patients understand the various health insurance programs that exist.

Promotoras go out into the community to speak with people one-on-one to let them know about the programs and how they work. Then enrollers, who are Certified Application Assistants, help patients complete the applications, and follow up to ensure they are covered for the medical care they need. This follow up includes working with Medi-Cal social workers and choosing an HMO, as well as helping the family understand what the program covers for themselves and their children.
